Parental Involvement

Town Lane Infant School prides itself in welcoming parents into school to support children. This support is invaluable to school and parents themselves find it extremely rewarding.

Parents are encouraged to be involved in school life throughout the year. We encourage parents to support in the classrooms with reading, with cooking activities, the library, the garden, school visits, making equipment, special occasions, e.g. Harvest, Christmas and fundraising events.

We welcome parents who are willing to talk to our children about their culture and their talents/work to help them to prepare for later life.

Many parents have been successfully encouraged to pursue qualifications in childcare ie NVQ 2 & 3 whilst working as volunteers in school and have themselves gained employment in this field.

Here are some quotes from some of our volunteers

'It's lovely to see the children improving week by week, and know that I’m part of it.

'It's a great way to help and support the school.'

If you would like to offer your support to school, then please contact Mrs Large, via the school office.

All regular volunteers are subject to satisfactory DBS clearance.
