Cerys Collinson

Parent

I am proud to serve as on the Board at Town Lane Infant School. Having lived on the Wirral for most of my life, I am passionate about supporting children and families within our local community.

I am a college lecturer and previously a SEN tutor. A parent to two boys, which gives me both professional and personal insight into education. I have a particular interest in early years education and believe that every child should feel valued, supported, and able to thrive. I am committed to promoting equality, diversity, inclusion, and ensuring that children with special educational needs receive the opportunities and support they deserve along with all children being seen and heard.

Having relocated from the North East five years ago, I’m proud to now call this community home. As a parent of three children aged 4 to 18, I have a strong personal connection to the different stages of the education journey and understand the vital role schools play in shaping confident, capable young people.

With over 20 years of leadership and coaching experience, I bring a passion for empowering others, nurturing resilience, and encouraging curiosity, always keen to explore the root cause to create meaningful and lasting impact. I am a strong advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion, with a particular interest in breaking taboo in women’s health.

I’m delighted to support Town Lane Academy and contribute to its continued success within our local community.

Staff Governor

I have worked at Town Lane Infant School since 2006 and currently teach in Foundation 2- Early Years Lead. For the last three years I have been part of the Leadership Team, with responsibility for Early Years. As a teacher governor, I feel that I can give good insight into the day-to-day life at the school and also be involved in shaping the future of Town Lane. I want the children at our school to achieve the best they possibly can and leave us well prepared for the next stage of their education, with lasting, happy memories of the years spent with us.

I am a recently retired headteacher and a local resident.  I have always been passionate about promoting aspiration and opportunity for all, inclusion and ensuring children thrive and achieve their full potential whilst acquiring strong values and the skills for life.

I am looking forward to working in partnership with everyone to support the school in its ambition to ‘offer the best education possible for all the children and promote a desire for lifelong learning’.
